Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, DJay Brawner knew he wanted to be a film
director as soon as he got his first VHS camcorder. Shortly after graduating high school in 1999,
DJay was invited on set for POD's Rock the Party video, and from that moment forward,
he decided every career move he made would be toward and for filmmaking.

After a brief stint studying film at a junior college, DJay began attending Chapman University's
Film School in southern California, where he produced and directed a number of student films,
winning a Best Film award for his short The Epic of Beans.

DJay graduated in 2004 with a BFA in Film/Television and went on to become a partner in Generator,
a music video production company started by Derek Dale and Ray Blanco. Since then, DJay has
directed several music videos including Ginger Sling’s Faith (fronted by Ginger Reyes, now of the
Smashing Pumpkins) and My New Life’s Load In  Play Load Out.

In 2006, DJay created, produced and directed 26 episodes of the music video show Noise Link,
which aired in 36 markets. During that time he also worked with and filmed artists Emery,
Mayday Parade, Jesse McCartney, Gavin DeGraw, Copeland, Dillenger Escape Plan, Switchfoot,
UpSyndrome, So They Say, The Supertones, Socratic, Sound The Alarm, Audio Karate, Project86,
The Matches, As I Lay Dying, and No Use For A Name.

DJay has now co-founded Anthem Productions a music video and commercial production company
with music industry vet Mark Yaeger.
